Wrapping Paper Wall Art | Project Nursery

PN Reader Sara shares a simple DIY for your kids room all the way from Israel and tempts us by saying, “I bet you have everything you need to do this simple project, so what are you waiting for?…” And she’s right, we do!

Share a little about yourself.
I am a creative stay at home/work at home designer mom, raising five children in the gorgeous rolling hills of Northern Israel. I have a new blog www.creativejewishmom.com in which I share all the joys of making creativity a priority in everyday life!

What is the name of your project?
Almost Instant DIY Artwork (for the nursery)
What inspired you to create this project?
I found this really cute wrapping paper at the grocery store and thought it would be great as framed art! Lucky for me I had an old frame just waiting for a project!
Please share with us step by step, detailed instructions.
The wooden frame was a cast-off from someone else and contained a very uninteresting poster. I opened up the frame from the back, and removed the poster which had been mounted to the bristol board (it was old enough that the poster peeled right off). I then cut a piece of wrapping paper about 2 inches smaller all around than the size of the frame opening, attached the wrapping paper to the bristol board with a few pieces of double-sided tape (a glue stick would work too), reinserted it into the frame and voila!
An even easier version of this project would be to use a frame with a pre-cut matte, such that you don’t have to worry about an exact cutting job — the matte covers the edges! Or simply cut a piece of wrapping paper to fit within the entire size of the frame with no border. And if you don’t have any frames on hand, so simply and neatly wrap a piece of your cute wrapping paper around a rectangle or square of cardboard, attach a ribbon and hang.

A simple but effective nursery design project

Buying Safely Online

Today buying goods on the web is very popular. However, there are still many people who have concerns about buying online. Sometimes you do hear those "horror" stories of people who bought online and had their identity stolen or never received their goods. These stories are unfortunate, but thankfully they are not the norm when customers purchase things online. As long as you keep some internet safety tips in mind, you can make purchasing online in a safe way. Here are some important tips for buying safely online that will help you avoid scams and online fraud.

Tip #1 - Only Buy From Secure Sites

One great tip for buying safely online is to only buy from secure sites. It's important that you check to make sure that any site you purchase an item for is set up to be secure so that your information is scrambled when it is sent over the internet. This keeps people from being able to intercept your personal and financial information when you are doing an online transaction. Wondering how to make sure that the website is secure? Look in the address and ensure it has an "Https," which will let you know it is secure. A key that is unbroken or a closed lock at the bottom of the page also lets you know that you are on a secured site.

Tip #2 - Ensure the Site Has Contact Information

Another important tip for purchasing items online safely is ensuring that the site you are buying from has contact information on it. If a site is not willing to put up their contact information, you should definitely question how legitimate this site is. Beware of sites that only put up an email address. Look for sites that provide addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses.

Tip #3 - Purchase By Credit Card When You Can

Whenever you can, it is a good idea to purchase by credit card when doing transactions on the web. When you pay with a credit card, you get additional protection from the credit card company in case something goes wrong. Most credit card companies provide protection in case you get scammed or in case someone gets a hold of your credit card number.

Tip #4 - Check Out the Company

Take the time to check out the company you're considering purchasing from before you make a purchase. This is important to buying safely online. There are several different ways that you can check out a company. You can go to the Better Business Bureau to check out their reputation. Another option is to simply Google the name of the company to see if any problems or complaints come up. If you find that others have had a lot of problems with the company, it's probably not a good idea to trust the company.

With these important tips, buying safely online becomes a whole lot easier. Always use these tips when you buy online. This way you'll keep your information safe and get the products that you want and need.

Create High End Nursery Decoration - Cool Trends in Celebrity Nurseries

If you're creating your own nursery, you may want to make sure your baby has the best of the best when it comes to nursery decoration. You can definitely find some high end baby nursery decoration ideas by checking into the cool trends in celebrity nurseries. Here's a closer look at some of the hottest trends in Hollywood when it comes to celebrity nurseries for celebrity babies

Choose Fabrics First

When it comes to high end nursery decoration, one of the most important things to do is to choose fabrics for the room first. Most of the celebrities have found this out themselves, and pick out the fabrics for the baby nursery first, such as the baby bedding. Once you find the fabrics you want to work with, then you can figure out the colors to feature on the walls.

Incorporate Designs in the Walls

Another great idea for celebrity style baby nursery decoration is to incorporate designs in the walls from the bedding and other fabrics that you are using in the room. Many parents decide to just go with one color on the walls, but many of the celebrity nurseries have patterns on the walls that compliment that patterns and designs that are found in the theme and bedding that they are using throughout the room.

Use the Crib as the Focal Point

If you take a look at nursery decoration in celebrity nurseries, you'll find that the crib is always the focal point of the nursery. You need to keep this in mind as you are planning out the nursery for your own little one. There are many unique crib designs that you can get that will act as a beautiful focal point, and then the rest of the nursery can be designed to play up to the beautiful crib that you have as your own nursery focal point.

Go Beyond Pinks and Blues

Go beyond pinks and blues when it comes to nursery decoration color choices. Many people tend to go with the simple choices of pinks and blues, but more and more celebrities are straying from these colors to other beautiful colors for baby rooms. Oranges, chocolates, greens, and yellows, are all great shades that can look beautiful in your baby's nursery, and they are some of the colors most often featured in celebrity nurseries lately.

Pay Attention to the Ceiling

Last of all, if you want to create a high end nursery, remember the ceiling when you are doing the baby nursery decoration. Your baby will be spending a lot of time in the crib, which means he'll be looking up. Put some exciting things on the ceiling for him to look at. A lovely chandelier is a great choice, and another interesting choice is to have a mural done on the ceiling for your baby to look at.

You don't have to live in Hollywood to have a nursery fit for a celebrity. With these high end nursery decoration tips, you can have a lovely baby nursery that will look incredible and impress everyone - including your baby.

Baby Nursery Decoration

One of the exciting parts of expecting a baby, apart from the arrival of the child itself of course, is
nursery decoration. Just thinking of ways to create a room where your little one will spend their earliest days can easily stimulate your thoughts.

As there are lots things to do to make the baby's room perfect. So, if you are one of those parents dying to get started with the nursery decoration, this is the right place for you. This article will give you the low down on what you should do and avoid in decorating your baby's room.

Picking out a theme is the first and most important part in this process. It is basically the whole look of the baby's nursery. It will also help you easily pick out the pieces for your baby as you already have a specific look you are going for. Most parents tend to go for a collective look, like cartoons, jungle, Wild West, outer space, sports, princess, fairies, or seaside themes. This can be the best if you are already sure about the gender of the baby. However, if you are not sure yet, going for more timeless and classic themes are also a good idea.

With a theme in mind, you are now ready to decorate the room. Another thing you have to decide on is whether to paint the walls or to use pretty wallpapers. One thing to remember here is to never use dark or dramatic colors in it. Choose the lighter shades, which are soothing and calming.

If you are also thinking of using solid colors for the walls, you can jazz it up by using trim borders or vinyl wall stickers that come in many various and wonderful designs. Painting the walls with images is also another great
idea. This way, your nursery can look minimalist but not dull, with the accents here and there.

Now, furnishing is one easy task as long as you already have a theme going on, as you'll only have to coordinate your pieces with the whole look. Baby furniture is already available everywhere - thrift shops, online and at department stores. Remember, you can always mix and match, but stick with the theme you've already started with your nursery.

In addition to these, baby nursery beddings can also be decorative pieces that will be perfect for your nursery decorations as these pieces are the handiest items that could decorate the room.

The possibilities are almost limitless in decorating your baby’s room; just remember to always put your baby’s safety first, as they are entirely depending on you to take care of them. Also, enjoy the whole process, as your love and dedication will definitely shine through your creations.
